This was mostly a new route to Jühnde for me, although I had previously ridden the first section in reverse from Dransfeld to Göttingen when we rode from the Weser River.
The climb up to the ridge top saw us pedal on many asphalt roads closed to general vehicle use, under the high speed train link and along an old Pilgrims way marked with a worn stone. Once atop the high ground and through Jühnde we enjoyed a series of fast-moving descents back into the Leine Valley.
The sun shone at times and this 57km was a welcome step in my recovery from infection and the removal of two Wisdom teeth.
