Friedland/Bisenhausen loop – 60km (revised 28 August 2022)
A revised route for the 60km Go Feldweg Omloop riding via Volkerode, Obernjesa, Friedland, Besenhausen, Reinhausen, Ballenhausen, and Diemarden.
This version of the Omloop (Flemish word for a circuit or runde) has a new route out from the velodrome featuring a section of gravel and importantly more kopfsteinpflaster. There is also a big change at Friedland where we cut out a visit to Marzhausen and include more gravel!
The total distance is 59km (60km plus if I had been able to ride a lap of the velodrome at the start and finish) of which 13km approx. are public roads with most of the rest being feldweg or cycle paths closed to general traffic.
The ride includes – 5 sectors of cobbles (2.5km), 10 sectors of mild gravel (6.7km), and 1 sector of Ribinou (0.4).
I would normally have ridden my road bike, but I need to look after my recovering injuries (I crashed in May) and so I took my gravel machine because some of the feldweg can be tough (especially the concrete).
