I ventured out to ride a ´road´ based bike tour that links together asphalt and Betonweg field roads with cobbles and gravel, plus cycle paths and public roads.
To my mind an inanimate bike can be given life by being ridden and the roads you may choose to follow can also imbue your bike with a soul.
This is a tough ride! The descent from the highground to the West of Göttingen at Volkerode requires a huge dose of concentration!
I began at the Gö velodrome, then I turned to go west, after which I headed south to Besenhausen. At that point it was back to the velodrome along the east side of the Leine Valley. At Reinhausen the route took me further east out to Bremke and I crossed over the high ground of the Gleichen Hills. I followed this with a route along the Garte Valley back to my start point.
