Gö Gravel (Previously Gö Strade Bianche) is an informal group, there is no central committee and, rather it’s a simple collective of friendly-minded cyclists. We hold no data base of people attracted to the group.
We do not hold formal led tours/events, instead we notify people about social rides because we enjoy riding with others and seeing new faces. You can choose to follow our wheels or not and we yours.
Our first notified rides began at the end of the summer of 2022 when we rode mid-week evenings (see fotos below) and we are now active at the weekends as well.
Our thinking is to be inclusive, to enjoy riding our bikes and we have a no-drop way of thinking.
You will need to ride a tough bike and tyres for most of the trails we enjoy.
John´s German is rubbish, and that´s why this is written in English, but other friends within (and out) the group are quite good at speaking the local language.
Whether you speak German, English or with another tongue please get in touch. The Gö Internazionale might be keen for a spontaneous ride!

Gö Gravel Social ride – 1 year anniversary – September 21, 2023
In autumn 2022 Josh, Andrea and I met in a café (of course) and whilst eating cake we decided to invite people to informally ride with us. We called the rides Gö Strade Bianche referencing the weiße Straßen of Göttingen, this morphed into Gö Gravel.
On September 22, 2022, we held our first informal get together (Gö Strade Bianche 41km), and almost one year to the day we rode Gö Gravel for the 36th time. On this anniversary ride we pedalled upon many of the same Gö white roads.

From the high ground at Volkerode we viewed the setting sun over Göttingen and then we whizzzzzzzzed down a long descent riding over well-known Gö Gravel routes allowing us time to get to the P-Café for kuchen etc.

Gö Gravel – Social Ride – Auf Der Alten Bahntrasse – September 7, 2023
We rode along the Dransfeld Ramp (abandoned Eisenbahn) following a route devised by Isa, we caught a great view of Gö and then it was downhill through the Leinebuschback into the Leine Valley.

Riding the Gö Strade Bianche 40km the wrong way meant there were a few steeper hills, and this made it quite a test, but it was nice to be in a group that was happy to ride together as one.
