A page featuring galleries and links for cycle tours undertaken during February 2023.
I ride regularly, and I do not necessarily post a web page for each tour I do.
I do post to Facebook, Garmin Connect, Strava and occasionally to Komoot and Instagram.
Gö Gravel Internationali Omloop – February 26 2023
We awoke to falling snow and the temperature was at zero. Just a few days ago we had savoured warm spring weather but since then there have been schnee flurries and a bitterly cold wind.
The Gö Gravel Internationali rode a variation of the Gö Feldweg Omloop in the vague hope of avoiding the worst of the mud. Thankfully the sun appeared out of the snow clouds bathing us in glorious light.
I promised no mud, but I told a falsehood!
Danke to Josh, Andrea, Konstantin, and Jeremy for the company.

Gö All Along the Watchtower – Revised finish – February 22 2023
I scouted a revised finish for the Gö Gravel All Along the Watchtower tour featuring an additional warte (Weinzenbergwarte), more gravel and a new approach to the Rosdorfer Warte.
Five medieval watchtowers/warte sites on this ride (8 on full 50km plus ride).
Hainholz (Lost/Existiert nicht mehr)
Weinzenbergwarte (Lost/Existiert nicht mehr)
Rosdorfer Warte (Wartburg)
We pick up the track at the Kehr, atop the Hainberg (1.9km) and end at the Dreckwarte (27.2km), but for this ride (and social rides) I include the old city walls.
I will ride the complete tour soon.

Gö Gravel Het Volk Omloop – A Love of Mud Party Ride – February 19, 2023
The Gö Gravel Love of Mud social ride for February featured 18 gravel sectors over a 45km parcours celebrating the Het Volk Omloop and Gent Wevelgem cycle Belgium races.
The idea was to avoid the mud of other trails and stick to the Leine Valley, but heavy rain fall preceding the ride saw us puddle surfing wet roads/trails allowing us to indulge our Love of Mud.
Thanks to: Josh, Sandra, Konstantin, Sebastian, Kai, Jen, Stefan, Luka, Jan, Jeremy, Andreas, and Def for the company.

Gö Gravel – Peace Ride – February 12 2022
We scouted a Gö Gravel party ride chosen by Sandra. The ride´s theme is a war not fought and the peace dividend delivered in the early 1990´s. It has a page of its own.
Sunbathing in Gö – February 7 2023
Overnight the temperature had fallen to minus 6 in my garden, when we left for the ride, it had warmed up to minus 3 and by the time we had returned it had hit the heady heights of plus 4!
We avoided the mud by riding less gravel and the sun shone strongly upon us, thus we found that not only were we clean once home (for a change), but we had begun to get quite hot under our many layers of clothing.
It was still cold enough to freeze the edges of the lake we passed by.
The cold does make me feel tired, but sunshine just makes everything seem alright.
