I went for a road ride with just a few metres of gravel and I did it simply so I could wear my favourite shoes. These road shoes are only for sunny days and ‘clean’ riding. They are white and they glow silver in the sunshine.

I have been thinking that for most of my gravel riding it would be OK to wear road shoes, but I’m still wondering about that.

The temperature is in the 30’s here making this a short hop of a ride and I avoided a long hill as it is so exposed. Therefore I did a U-turn and went back where whence I came along an amazing concrete cycle path that swings back and forth adjacent to the forest where it was cool.

It was great to sail along on my road bike and it felt so smooth rather than pedalling over rocks!
