There aren´t many cobbled roads in the Gö area which can be put together to create a Paris Roubaix like tour. Instead, and to mimic Northern France (and the Flanders region) we ride nine sections of mild pave, and 33 gravel sectors the latter standing in for the kopfsteinpflaster.
We combine elements of the Gö North Feldweg Omloop and the Gö Het Volk Omloop tours into a Gö Nord -Sud ride.
On the Leine River work is ongoing to remove more World War Two bombs….
For the sake of my Mojo and an added sense of adventure I chose to ride my `Omloop` bike which also meant I could wear my favourite road shoes.
By using a wider front rim than previously allowed the Schwalbe tyre to grow a few millimetres to its 35mm potential. I played with pressures with the front pumped up from 55 psi to 70 psi (4.8 Bar) and the rear at 75 psi (5.0 Bar). Added together it makes the tyre firm, but the larger air chamber offers some relief from the hits from the terrain. When I rode the Paris Roubaix sportive (5 times), I used similar pressures.
An Areonthan inner tube completed the tweaks for this ride.
