Post-Christmas Gö Strade Bianche – Love of mud in Gö – December 27 2022

It was a last-minute decision to call an informal Gö Strade Bianche Love of Mud Winter Series ride featuring the Dransfelder Ramp a lost railway to the west of Göttingen.

Danke to Sandra, Andrea, Renee, Def, Gerhard, Tim and Konstantin for the post-Christmas company.

No drop – Party Pace and one stop for a puncture.

West Side Love of Mud Schnee Ride in Gö – December 17 2022

The first Gö Strade Bianche Love of Mud Winter Series tour.

It was cold, the coldest temperature I have ever ridden a bike in (-10), but with the sun shining and thanks to great company it was a wonderfully positive experience.

The cold had freeze dried the mud and it resembled summer conditions being dusty, except where there was ice and snow. It was just a matter of being careful and we were.

A highlight was skimming stones across a frozen Baggersee.

Danke to Sandra, Isa, Andrea, Jeremy, Konstantin, and Josh for the ride and for tolerating my singing. It was good to see Derek in the P-Café for a well earned heiß Schoki!

Love of Mud Galgen Humor in Gö – December 8 2022

I proclaim a Love of Mud with an elevated level of Galgen Humor (gallows humour)!

This was a scouting and GPS setting ride for a Gö Strade Bianche Love of Mud Winter Series party pedal. It features the Kopfsteinpflaster Karussell. (See our Strava and Facebook groups)

I had to abandon the track because the forest trail was blocked by felled trees. Just as well as I was beginning to feel sorry for my bike in the snow, rain, and mud!!!! (I caressed my bike to express thanks when I got home)

Frigid in Gö – December 4 2022 Walk

After a few days of frigid conditions in Göttingen where the temperature hovered between zero and minus it was a relief to see the snow melting as we hit a balmy 3 degrees.

The winter is a challenging time to stay positive thus it’s important to embrace it and venture out.
