June 2025 Rides

A page featuring galleries and links for cycle tours undertaken during June 2025.

I ride regularly, and I do not necessarily post a web page for each tour I do.

I do post to FacebookGarmin ConnectStrava and occasionally to Komoot and Instagram.

Monthly Tours

Gö Gravel T-Shirt Ride – June 30 2025

The theme was t-shirts, but for a boy bought up with the awfulness of cycling in woollen jerseys and never-ever cotton I opted for sweat wicking lycra. And I stuff everything into pockets rather than bags.

Many cherries were picked and eaten on route.

The 32nd Gö Gravel informal Monday evening social tour featured Josh, Frej, Tim E, Jana, David H, Konstantin, Chris, Tatiana, Clemens, Dennis, Ingo, Sam, Andres, Finn, Josef, Ann-Christin, Max, and John.

Gö Gravel Strade Bianche 2 – June 23 2025

The first group tour of the summer and we dusted ourselves in Gö gravel´s white talc.

William Shakespeare sums up the seasonal cycle in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

“The spring, the summer, the childing autumn, angry winter, change,” and as we know the course of nature is fickle, Titania continues “and now the confused world can’t tell one from the other.”

The 31st Gö Gravel informal Monday evening social tour featured Josh, Tim E, Ingo, Niklas, Chris, Jennifer, Dennis, Max H, Henny, David, Johannes S, Ann-Christin, and John.

The First of Summer in Gö – June 22 2025

I passed by golden fields, where poppies popped red and brilliant white well-worn roads raised dust about my wheels.

A ´groad´ (groan) ride and a chance to wear my favourite summer road shoes. The temperature was hot, in such weather your heart works very hard and so I watched my HRM and sipped water throughout.

English poet William Blake (1757-1827) wrote of summer.

´O Thou who passest thro’ our vallies in
Thy strength, curb thy fierce steeds, allay the heat
That flames from their large nostrils! thou, O Summer,
Oft pitched’st here thy golden tent, and oft
Beneath our oaks hast slept, while we beheld
With joy, thy ruddy limbs and flourishing hair. ´

As did William Shakespeare (1564-1616)

´Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date. ´ etc.

Gö Gravel Konstantins Östlicher Kreis – June 8 2025

We went east into the Eichsfeld with Konstantin pivoting via gravel and forest roads at Seulingen.

Many feared the ride because of the threat of heavy rain but we did not get wet or cold and although the wind was challenging it was in essence a beautiful tour!

We stopped at a café and had goosegog cake where once a warte stood part of a line which guarded an old military road to Göttingen. On view was the town of Duderstadt, the Ohm Mountains, the Rotenberg Mountain range, and the Harz Mountains including the Brocken.

The ride Internazionale featured: Konstantin, Tilman, Frej, and John Mx.
