April 2025 Rides

A page featuring galleries and links for cycle tours undertaken during April 2025.

I ride regularly, and I do not necessarily post a web page for each tour I do.

I do post to FacebookGarmin ConnectStrava and occasionally to Komoot and Instagram.

Monthly Tours

Gö Gravel Ausfahrt – April 28 2025

There were a few tired legs from riding the Tour de Energie the previous day on the 24th Monday informal social ride of 2024/25.

Dusty trails and an evening sun gladdened our hearts.

Making Noise on the Hoher Hagen – April 27 2025

Konstantin and I rode via gravel trails to make lots of noise upon the Hoher Hagen, an iconic climb of the Tour de Energie.

We almost went deaf from the racket we made supporting the riders!

Thanks for the after ride food at Gö Allez pop up and it was great to catch up with all the heroes who took part.

Gö Gravel x Allez Clubhouse / Ronde van Allez – April 21 2025

Easter Monday saw Gö Gravel and the Tan Line Crew link together for an informal gravel ride from the Allez pop up Clubhouse in Göttingen.

We broke into groups and I at the back in cahoots with Sandra, used ´ride craft’ to stay ahead at times and later we joined with Victoria, Franzika and Josh to finish with style.

Huge thanks to Allez for the warm hosting and after ride party.

The ride included Josh, Tim E, Jan W, Sandra, Victoria, Franzika, Basti, Henny, Diana, Bianca, Patrick S, Christian, Eli, Patrick F, Tim v, Andreas, Fabian, Ann-Christin, Lukas C, and John. Not all who rode are mentioned.

Gö Gravel x Allez Clubhouse / Ronde van Allez – April 13 2025

I scouted the Easter Monday Gö Gravel ride starting and finishing at the Allez Club House, 3 Gronestraße, Göttingen – Mehr.

Cat food Hunting in Gö – April 10 2025

After a touch of food poisoning/intolerance, it was cool to be riding, and our cat is happy because we combined it with a hunt for his favourite dinner treats.

We also rode part of the Easter Monday Gö Gravel Allez Clubhouse / Ronde van Allez route, which I will be riding/scouting on Sunday, April 13 hopefully hooking up later with the Tanline Crew to watch PRbx.

TDE Hoher Hagen Climb in Gö – April 6 2025

You can see the Hoher Hagen and the Gauß Turm across the Leine Valley from almost anywhere in the Göttingen area (492m).

I have sat atop it many times, but never had I ridden up via the iconic road route as featured each year on the Tour de Energie. The TDE is a sportive type of event open to all held upon closed roads drawing 4,000 annually.

The Hoher Hagen is an ascent of 3.7km (From Dransfeld), and peaks at 12% nearer the top, where we enjoyed sausages and cake as our reward, thanks to Sandra and Andrea for their company.

It was super wonderful to see Johanna, such a cool rider, the climb itself isn´t very hard, in fact good fun and the earlier false flat after Mengershausen to Bordel is worse.

The descent was super cold into an evilly fierce wind.

Erster Tanline Crew Ride / Season opening – April 2 2025

The first informal Tanline Crew road ride of the season and we pedalled past a remnant of the French occupation of the area during the Seven Years War getting me excited.

We elected to drop off the pace and pootled around the route and included a sector of gravel which was fun on road spec bikes.

Danke all.
