Cycling is the perfect excuse to eat cake. Another relaxed ride putting as little pressure on Andrea´s knee as possible following sections of the Gutingi Strade Bianche.
To eat cake here you must fill in a form to aid contact tracing, you must also socially distance and there are hand wash facilities. Sadly I lost my Rapha silk neckerchief on route (given to me by Simon Mottram 10 years ago) which I was going to use as a face covering, thankfully Andrea had a mask she could wear allowing us to interact with the café host and so all was good .
Thus, we could eat cake and drink coffee outside of the historic Stein Muhle in accordance with Covid-19 protocols set by the Lower Saxony State Government.
On route we stopped to look at small horses (this is very much a horse area) and as we admired them a woman cycled by and she suggested to us we might want to look also at the white cow in the nearby village… I could make a pun about living in the fast lane but that would be churlish in this time of Covid-19 where we all get our kicks where we can.
