There was racing at the Goettingen velodrome this day and I took the opportunity to test out my Autumn/Winter new build and check out some winter routes on my ride to the action.
My new build is a bike I intend to use to ride close to home following category* one and two ‘Gö Strada Bianche’ sections linked by farmers roads and bike paths (there was also a few metres of cat three ‘Gö Strada Bianche’ – cat 5 being highest and the gnarliest and best left to a cross or gravel bike)
I have been told that German winters can be tough and so being able to pop out and spin close to home using the many trails here is what I am thinking, therefore I rode to the Bahn over what might become part of a regular route.
I had a few issues with the new build bike which checked my speed and I will make changes for next time out (when my others bikes are tucked up for the winter).
I was able to watch a few races organised by Tuspo Weende-Radsport in the late summer sunshine and it was good to see, I especially noted a number of youth girls who looked strong, as did the whole youth field.
*my own rating.
