Gunpowder Park was once the location for the Royal Naval Gunpowder production situated in north east London. Neil Simpson began promoting there with London Phoenix mid 2000’s and stopped when the club opted to promote at Redbridge instead for the 2014/15 season.
A major feature is the steep stepped banks that allowed for switchbacks and there were many swooping sections across coarse grasslands.
Large earth banks once had played the practical role of containing any blasts caused by the mishandling of the gunpowder, are now challenging
As I said at the start this course may not be lost and it could make a comeback and this venue was awarded best cakes for three years straight.
